Blog – What is a Blog?

Blog = Web+Log – An online journal which may also include media such as video, photos, podcasts, other elements. A blog involves a group of people or anyone – and has a comments section to engage readers of the blog. During the 2004 Presidential election, interest in blogs increased and people referred to the “blogosphere.”

The best way to really learn about blogs is to follow a blog … and to start a blog.

Here are some comments from teachers about blogs:

“Never in my 25 years of teaching have I seen a more powerful motivator for writing than blogs” - third-grade teacher, Mark Ahlness, at Seattle's Arbor Heights Elementary School.
